This person understands good practice when coaching individuals in the workplace. They know the roles, responsibilities, behaviours and characteristics of an effective coach. They understand the contracting process and how to manage confidentiality to coach ethically.

This person is able to manage a coaching process by agreeing goals and following a recognised model of practice. They can support effective coaching by drawing on a range of tools and techniques. They can maintain records and are able to recognise and overcome barriers to successful coaching at work.

This person has undertaken at least six hours of effective coaching of others in an organisational environment. They can assess their own abilities as a coach, including reflecting on their communication and interpersonal skills when coaching. They are also able to draw conclusions about their performance and plan for future development needs.
